The night creatures bury corpses and rebuild a city under the direction of Isaac, who explains the city's past to one of them in an attempt to teach them the value of choice. Later, Varney contacts Issac through a magic mirror, but ends up antagonizing Issac and is cut off. At their campsite, Morana and Striga are ambushed with the rest of their vampire kin by humans, who strike their tents at dawn to take advantage of the sunlight in killing them...
