One year has passed since the death of Tohru's mother Kyoko. After school, during Tohru's part-time job, Momiji tells her about his mother, his father, and his little sister, Momo. However, Tohru notices that Momiji's mother does not remember him. Momiji recites how on the day he was born, his mother rejected him after finding out he turned into rabbit when embracing him, an effect of the Sohma curse. When the mother stabbed herself, Momiji's father suggested that it would be better if she would forget about him...
