Episode Description:
Twilight Sparkle is determined to become the first pony to win Trivia Trot, a Ponyville trivia contest, three times in a row. She is randomly paired up with Pinkie Pie, who has never played before, and the team soon falls behind due to Pinkie's stupidity. Twilight begins to exploit the game's intricate rules in order to get other teams penalized or disqualified, while at the same time distracting Pinkie so she can answer the questions herself. When Pinkie inadvertently disqualifies herself, Twilight pairs up with Sunburst, who monopolizes the game in order to keep up his own percentage of correct answers. She and Sunburst both realize that their drive to win has taken the fun out of the game, and Twilight apologizes to Pinkie and teams up with her again. Although they must give up their accumulated points and thus now have little chance of winning, they decide to have fun playing out the rest of the game.
