After being pressed for more information, Shingen runs away, and Celty goes looking for him. Celty encounters Mikado, who is bothered by rumors that the slasher attacks are being perpetrated by the Dollars, and she tells him that she will help by looking into the incidents. She goes to see Izaya for information, who mentions a demonic blade called 'Saika'. She learns from Shinra that his father used Saika to separate her head from her body, and later sold the weapon to a secondhand antique dealer. Shingen tells Izaya that he supports Izaya's mythological theory regarding Celty. Elsewhere, as Anri is walking home from school, the slasher comes up behind her and prepares to strike.
