Once Shikamaru and Tenten meet up with Naruto, they and the crew find themselves in a fogbank and forced through an obstacle field of reefs and a big whirlpool. Although Guy, Yamato, and Naruto use their signature moves, they slowly deplete their chakra as the obstacle repeats itself. With Naruto using the last of his chakra to muster enough shadow clones to deal with the rocks, he convinces Shikamaru to think up an escape plan. Using one of Tenten's scrolls to store the ship, the group hides and catches the thieving villagers red-handed as they attempt to collect and profit from the shipwreck.
