Mr. Botsford is fixing a special feast for the family--his "Spicy Surprise"! He insists that it must be eaten as soon as it is done cooking. But Scoops comes by, and drags Becky into investigating a mystery with him. After some investigating, Becky realizes she is late for dinner and rushes back home, only to find out she missed her dad's special meal. He is devastated, but she convinces him to make it again for her. But when she returns to the scene with Scoops, and ends up missing dinner a second time, she ends up being "mega-grounded"! Becky has to rely on an old Botsford tradition - the family trial, just like the courtroom to convince her family that she vanished from the feast for a good reason. Sally becomes Judge Sally Botsford and TJ and Bob become lawyers. But when Maria the Energy Monster breaks Dr. Two Brains out of jail and the two head over to the Botsfords to take back a powerful invention, will Becky be able to prove her innocence and transform into WordGirl in time to stop the two super villains?
