After she collects the last of her grandmother's things, she realizes that something is odd when her grandmother's knitting needles are missing. She also observes that the clothes left by her grandmother don't smell like her. While back in No.6, she visits Karan and learns of what has happened to Shion. After leaving Karan's bakery, Safu is abducted by the security bureau. Meanwhile, Shion and Nezumi continue their discussion over the future of No.6 and the parasite wasps. Nezumi receives a notice from Shion's mother informing him that Safu was taken by city officials. Nezumi contemplates whether or not to tell Shion as he would die trying to save her, but in the end, he decides to keep it a secret from Shion.
