However, Mikaela arrives, obtaining a gun and a map in order to bring the orphans out of Sanguinem. When Yuichiro, Mikaela and the orphans make a daring attempt to escape, they are trapped by Ferid Bathory, who kills the orphans one by one. Ferid mortally wound Mikaela in the midst of his charge, but Yuichiro manages to shoot Ferid. Yuichiro leaves Mikaela and the rest of his family behind and escapes outside Sanguinem.
