She is afraid of spiders and bugs and therefore misunderstands every well-intentioned gesture of the wonderland insects. She flees to the Duchess' house, but the Duchess mistakes Alice for a bug and kicks her. The other insects help her escape. Finally, the blue caterpillar gives her some advice on how to regain her natural size.
