In the present day, Fena sold her virginity and was put in an arranged marriage to an ill-tempered British soldier named Maxiver Jr. in an attempt to escape the island with the money. That evening, after her plans hit a snag, she is saved by Otto and Salman, two senior knights who used to serve her family. Despite being hunted down by British soldiers and the town guards, Fena is saved by a small group of hidden warriors, including a samurai with eyes she recognizes as that of Yukimaru's, before he knocks her out cold with his sheath.
