The next morning, Joseph quickly realizes he has become a human magnet as a result of the shock, causing anything metallic to become a potentially lethal weapon for him. Joseph is trapped on an escalator by Bastet's user Mariah, resulting in his hands nearly being chopped off on the landing platform. Avdol rescues him but comes under Bastet's influence as well. As Joseph and Avdol pursue Mariah, they become stuck together by their magnetism.
