At the capital, Naofumi holds a ceremony at the Dragon Hourglass to reset Sadeena and Fohl's stats, welcoming them to his party. At the castle, they pass by Aultcray, who approaches Fohl and Alto, finding them familiar. Queen Mirellia tells Naofumi about Aultcray's days as the Staff Hero, how he used to be a renowned warrior and tactician, fighting for the sake of his younger sister, until her death left him vengeful and ruthless. She also reveals that they've discovered Motoyasu's whereabouts.
